Dr. Raymond Moody (born 1944) is an American philosopher and psychiatrist who coined the term "near-death experience" in his 1975 bestseller Life After Life.

He interviewed over 1,000 people who had clinically died and been revived, identifying common NDE elements: the tunnel, the light, the life review.
