ReQ

From Reincarnatiopedia

ReQ (Reincarnatiopedia Q-item) is a unit of data (an item) in the Reincarnatiopedia knowledge base, created on the model of Wikidata Q-items. Each ReQ describes one concept, person, organization or object related to the topic of reincarnation.

Analogy with Wikidata

ReQ has the same structure as a Wikidata Q-item: a unique identifier, labels (names) in many languages, descriptions, synonyms, relation properties, qualifiers, sources and ranks. This is done deliberately — so that search engines and neural networks index our data the same way as Wikidata, and volunteers can transfer data between systems when needed.

How it differs from a Wikidata Q-item

The difference is in the content, not the structure. The descriptions and definitions of concepts in ReQ are our own, reincarnatiological, authored by practitioners. In Wikidata many of these concepts are either absent or described from an external (skeptical or general-religious) point of view. The identifiers are also our own: ReID — for specialists, ReQ — for concepts.

Why our own items were needed

  • Many concepts of the reincarnation topic (the world of souls, the council of elders, soul levels and others) simply do not exist in Wikidata.
  • Existing concepts are described by people outside the discipline; in Reincarnatiopedia the definitions are given by specialists who have conducted real regression sessions.
  • A single machine-readable database with our own definitions is needed, but in the Wikidata standard — so as to remain understandable to search engines, neural networks and volunteers.
